Crystal Therapy: Lighting Part 2
by Rev. Nicole Lasher D.M.
Lighting is when the stone is lain on the body near the organ or essential
origin, and light from the sun, a full spectrum bulb, or fire is allowed
to pass through or around the stone and into the body.
There are many sites detailing normal crystal therapy techniques already,
so in this one, we'll focus on some of the less hyped and therefore lesser
known or understood methods. One of my favorites acts directly on
the psyche, and is non intrusive.
Eye View
It can be done a couple of ways, depending on whether the client prefers
to sit up or lie down. If they lie down, a frame table needs to be
made with a clear glass or netted top where the crystals can be placed
in their eye view. If they prefer to sit up, the crystals should
be set on a surface that is at eye level. Your light source shouldn't
shine directly into their eyes. It should just be arranged so that
the crystals receive light from it.
The client should be exposed to the arrangement for 20 minutes or so.
Music and aromatherapy can be used at the same time. Basically one
wants to create a supportive environment wherein the client can visually
focus on the crystals, and get the message that they represent.
Portals
Another similar technique involves the building of crystal portals.
This is when crystals are arranged in an arch or doorway so that the client
is surrounded by the refracted light of the crystals. If it's arranged
in a doorway, make sure it's in a well lighted area, or that full spectrum
lights are arranged so that the light passes through the crystals.
Light Messaging
For this technique, the therapist must have a clear mind, and focus
on the objective of the session. The idea is to override conscious
thought to speak to the patron's subconscious directly.
The therapist should hold the crystal between their fingers, with whichever
hand they normally radiate with. Some can with both hands, but many
have one hand for drawing (receiving), and another for radiating (sending).
Light should be allowed to pass through the stone, and the patron needs
to look at it. They may relax and blink at will, but they should
keep the stone within their view for as long as possible.
Sometimes, during such a session, especially when working with blue
colored stones, a patron may fall asleep. This is fine. Let
them sleep until the session is over, and if you can beyond that.
Just bring them a blanket and make them comfortable, and let it pass naturally,
or take them to a sleeping room. The effects of lifting of psychological
burdens, or being taken into a dream state can be somewhat like intoxication,
so one should let them come out of it naturally.
For this kind of work, I recommend lenses or lense shaped stones of
varying colors. A somewhat flat cabochon may do well, especially
for stones that are almost opaque. One can also use wands, so long
as the stone is protruding enough to be held into the light.
What the therapist is doing with this technique is transmitting a message
through body language, using the stone as a tool of focus and aid to visualization.
Subtle movements of the hand while thinking positive thoughts, breathing,
and such, are like a silent chanting that does the job and works around
the blocks some people form against things they hear. For the deaf
and hard of hearing, it may also be more meaningful. |
